How did you feel when you found out you were chosen to be Kappa Psi’s brother of the month?

I was grateful to the brothers but conflicted at the same time because I feel like there are brothers who are much more deserving of being Kappa Psi’ brother of the month. I will continue to put my best effort going forward and hope to make more memorable memories with the brothers as our academic years progress.

What are you enjoying the most so far from being a Brother of Kappa Psi?

I love the friendship and bond that I was fortunate enough to have by being a brother of Kappa Psi. By being a brother of Kappa Psi, I was giving an opportunity to get to know more people from our school than I would have without it. I especially love how my Big was open to accept me and provide me with guidance when we barely just met, and I love the bond we have now.

Can you tell us about some of the on-going projects you are involved with in Kappa Psi?

I help with decorations when we have social events and putting together any packages or goodie bags that are to be distributed. I am also in charge of finances, so I aid in buying or reimbursing any items needed for our events.

What is your current year in pharmacy school and what are you enjoying the most out of your classes? Is there a particular class you enjoy the most? Why?

I am currently a P2 student in pharmacy school, and I enjoy how the classes build up upon one another and how there are less classes compared to undergraduate school, so I could really focus on what is important and needed in order to become a successful pharmacist. I enjoy Patient Care the most because it is built upon Principle of Drug Action, another class I really enjoy, and I could apply what I learn in this class to real-life patients in the future.

What initially made you interested to pursue a career in pharmacy?

I was initially interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy because I wanted to be involved in the healing process of patients, aiding them towards a more sustainable and healthier road in life. My pharmacist always spoke and helped me with warmth, and I hope to someday express the same feelings of warmth towards my own patients.

Do you have any hobbies? What are your interest and/or how do you usually like to spend your free time?

I enjoy doing many things, but my favorite thing to do is rejuvenate myself through resting, eating, and watching Netflix. I usually like to spend my free time resting for the next day or spending time talking to my family and friends back at home.

What is an interesting fact or story about you that many people don’t know?

An interesting story about me that many people don’t know is that when I was a child, I asked my dad for a hammer, and when he gave it to me, I walked around the neighborhood swinging it around. I had no memory of this, but a couple years back, my relative came to visit and showed my family a video of me walking around with a hammer, and my sisters always bring it up now.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

It is difficult to guess where in life I will be 5 years from now, but I hope to have become an educated pharmacist with a job to sustain myself so that I may start a family and pay back my student loans. Although I doubt I will be done paying back my loans in 5 years, if it does occur by some miracle, I want to be able to provide my parents with a relaxing life where neither they or I will face too many financial challenges.

Share a quote you like or a mantra that you live by.

A quote that I like to remember is, “Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do” by John Wooden because I don’t want to be setback by what I have yet to achieve, but rather, I want to focus on the positives and keep moving forward with what I am doing.
